Sunday 20 November  

  • Travel from Cairo to Tel Aviv.
  • Welcome arrival at Ben Gurion Airport, to be met by our tour representative.
  • Visit the city of Lod including the Church of St George and the tomb of St George.
  • Travel to Jaffa to take the blessings of Saint Peter’s Church. It was in Jaffa that St Peter raised Tabitha from the dead (Acts 9 and 10) and saw the vision on the roof of Simon the Tanner.
  • Transfer to Tiberias.
  • Overnight stay in the Leonardo Tiberias Hotel.

Monday 21 November  

  • Drive to Nazareth, the childhood home of our Lord Jesus Christ and the largest city in the Northern District of Israel (Isaiah 7:14 and Luke 1:26). We will visit the old well and the Orthodox Annunciation Church; the Catholic Basilica of the Annunciation where the angel Gabriel visited Mary, and the Church of Saint Joseph where Joseph’s carpentry workshop existed. 
  • Travel to Cana in Galilee where Jesus performed His first miracle, the changing of water into wine (John 2).
  • Drive to the Mount of Beatitudes, the scene of Jesus’ great Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5).
  • Visit Capernaum including the home of Saint Peter and the place where Christ began His public ministry; the synagogue where Christ taught (Mathew 8:5) and the church built over the site of Peter’s home where our Lord healed Peter’s mother in law (Luke 4:38); the town of Tabgha where Jesus fed the multitude of 5000 out of two fishes and five loaves (Mathew 14:13); the site of Peter’s Primacy (John 21) and the baptismal site at the Jordan River.
  • Overnight stay in the Leonardo Tiberias Hotel.

Tuesday 22 November 

  • Leave Nazareth and travel to Jerusalem via Jericho, the oldest and the lowest city in the world. At Jericho we will visit Elisha’s Spring (2 kings 2:21), the walls of Joshua (Joshua 6:1-20), and the place where the story of Zachaeus took place (Luke 19). We will see the ancient sycamore fig tree and view Mount Temptation where Jesus was tempted by the devil (Mathew 4). 
  • It is optional for participants to travel up on the mount via the lowest cable car in the world, at their own expense of 15 American dollars per person.
  • Then we will continue to the Dead Sea, to the saltiest lake in the world where you can experience some ‘floating’ upon this dense salty water.
  • Overnight stay in the Grand Court Hotel Jerusalem.

Wednesday 23 November  

  • Visit the village of Ein Karem, birthplace of St John the Baptist (Luke 1:39), to visit the church that commemorates his memory; the Church of the Visitation where Mary visited her cousin Elizabeth; the regin of Beit Sahour visiting the Shepherds’ Fields, the place where the angels of the Lord brought good tidings of great joy for all people that our Savior, Christ the Lord, is born (Luke 2:8); and the Field of Boaz, linked to Ruth, one of the most celebrated stories in the Old Testament (Ruth1:4). 
  • We will then go to Bethlehem to visit the Church of the Nativity, built by Emperor Justinian in the 6th century over the grotto of Jesus’ birth (Mathew 1:18); the Milk Grotto, where Mary breastfed Jesus and finally a visit the St Mary’s Coptic Orthodox Church and Monastery.
  • Overnight stay in the Grand Court Hotel Jerusalem.

Thursday 24 November  

  • Drive to the Mount of Olives for a spectacular panoramic view of Jerusalem, a site which the holy eyes of our Saviour also gazed upon. 
  • Visit the Church of Pater Noster built over the ruins where Christ is believed to have taught The Lord’s Prayer (Luke 11). Inside it has tiled panels inscribed with the Lord’s Prayer in more than 167 languages. 
  • Visit the Chapel of Ascension (Acts 1) and then walk along the "Palm Sunday Road" to Dominus Flevit (Luke 19 and Mathew 23:37), where our Lord wept over Jerusalem. 
  • Continue to the Garden of Gethsemane and the Church of All Nations (John 18). And we will visit the Tomb of Mary according to the Orthodox tradition. 
  • Travel to Mount Zion, the highest point in ancient Jerusalem. We will see the Tomb of King David and visit the Upper Room where the Last Supper occurred (Mark 14:12) and the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist was instituted. We will also see the Church of the Dormition, the place where the Virgin Mary fell into eternal sleep according to the Catholic tradition.  
  • And visit St. Peter in Gallicantu, where Peter denied Jesus three times before the rooster crowed.
  • Overnight stay in the Grand Court Hotel Jerusalem.

Friday 25 November  

  • Free time to attend the Holy Mass at the Holy Sepulcher Church.
  • Later meet with the Metropolitan of Jerusalem, His Eminence Metropolitan Anba Antonious.
  • Visit the Church of the Resurrection and free time for shopping.
  • Overnight stay in the Grand Court Hotel Jerusalem.

Saturday 26 November  

  • Visit Bethesda Pool and the birth place of the Virgin Mary and the Crusader Church of Saint Anne.
  • Walk through the stations of the Via Dolorosa (John 18, 19 and 20) or “Way of Sorrow,” which is the traditional route that Jesus followed bearing his cross from Pilate’s Judgment Hall to Calvary Hill (Golgotha), the site of His crucifixion which is in the Holy Sepulchre Church. 
  • The winding, narrow streets of Jerusalem’s Old City lead from the Ecce Homo Convent to the Basilica of the Holy Sepulcher. The entire route is inside the Old City Wall of Jerusalem. Pilgrims traditionally walk the route, identifying with Jesus’ suffering. There are “Fourteen Stations of the Cross” and each station marks an event of sacred memory, with chapels for reflection before reaching Golgotha and Jesus’ tomb.
  • Overnight stay in the Grand Court Hotel Jerusalem.

 

The Egypt Program

  • Will include an audience with His Holiness Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria. 
  • Date and location to be confirmed closer to the time.

  • Full day tour to visit the Three Monasteries of Wadie El Natrun and St  Makar Monastery. Then continue to Alexandria.
